2 Kings 2:4

English Standard Version

4 Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” But he said, “As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho. (Jos 6:26; 1Ki 16:34; 2Ki 2:2) 

New International Version

4 Then Elijah said to him, ‘Stay here, Elisha; the Lord has sent me to Jericho.’ And he replied, ‘As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.’ So they went to Jericho. 

New International Reader’s Version

4 Then Elijah said to him, ‘Stay here, Elisha. The LORD has sent me to Jericho.’ Elisha replied, ‘I won’t leave you. And that’s just as sure as the LORD and you are alive.’ So they went to Jericho. 

King James Version

4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
